Erebus Motorsport has revealed its newest livery for David Reynolds’ #9 Commodore, which will make its debut at the Bathurst 1000 this weekend.
The refreshed design sees the team trade its regular gold features for a truly Australian look.
This year marks the second time the Penrite Holden has run a one of a kind design at Mount Panorama.
“It’s sure to attract plenty of attention and it doesn’t get much bigger than Bathurst,” Penrite Oil’s General Manager – Sales & Marketing Toby Dymond said.
“It’s the biggest event of the year and is the perfect opportunity to showcase our brand in a different way.
“We’re often mistaken for being an American brand and we’re simply not, we are 100% Australian made and owned and I think it’s important that we send a reminder.
“By buying Australian made you’re not only supporting local jobs and our economy but also getting a quality product.”
Penrite Oil was founded by Les Mecoles in 1926, with oil blends coming straight from Melbourne.
The Dymond family took over its operations in 1979 and have continued to manufacture premium quality lubricant products specifically for Australian motoring conditions.
Reynolds is looking forward to the event and showing off his new colours.
“I think the car looks great, and it’s exciting to be able to show off Penrite’s heritage,” he said.
“Bathurst is Australia’s biggest motor racing event and you can’t get any more Australian than this.
“This is by far the best weekend of the year and there’s no reason why we can’t have a good one.
“It’s the one you really want to win and I’m really looking forward to seeing how we go; we’ve got a few ideas up our sleeves and hopefully they pay off on Sunday.”
Penrite Oil has also joined Supercars to become the official oil and lubricants partner for the biggest race of the year, which kicks off tomorrow.
